Lenovo ThinkPad T410s – Laptop Review

The Lenovo ThinkPad T410s is a highly anticipated entry to the ThinkPad lineup. The Lenovo ThinkPad T410s is equipped with the Intel Core i5, which is expected to deliver an extraordinary performance.
Lenovo intends for the ThinkPad T series to be known for its excellent performance. Of course, it would have to be supported by the best specs that technology can offer.
Buyers of the Lenovo ThinkPad T410s have the choice of an Intel Core i5-529M 2.4 GHz or Intel Core i5-540M 2.53 GHz processor.  Both have the Turbo Boost technology that allows for accelerating to i5 processors when necessary. Supporting this top-of-the-range processor is DDR 3 read access memory of up to 5 GB. Actually, the buyer can opt to put in up to 8 GB of DDR4 RAM to this laptop. But whichever the buyer chooses, it’s assured that no glitches are experienced even when heavy programs are being handled.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T410s has switchable graphics, a feature that comes in handy when there’s a need to alternate from an Intel integrated graphics chipset to a dedicated video card in Nvidia NVS3100m discrete graphics with 512 MB of VRAM. When the user has a task to edit or render heavy graphics, he can switch modes from the regular GPU or a boosted one.  The Lenovo ThinkPad T410s also has Nvidia NVS3100m graphics that allows for editing movies and playing hardcore games to be done smoothly. However, there is a limit to the games that can be played here. The game’s quality might suffer when used with the latest 3D games.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T410s comes with 160 GB of disk space but there is an option to have up to 500 GB of space. Digital files, including movies and games, can be stored worry-free.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T410s is priced at an average of $1,399.

PROS
There aren’t many laptops that we can say has been well thought out but this is one of those. With a 14-inch diameter, the laptop is very portable. Despite its size, Lenovo gave it components that are typically found only on larger laptops.
Having an i5 processor means that Lenovo ThinkPad T410s can handle most applications that you throw at it. The laptop’s RAM and switchable graphics are definite pluses too.
But what makes this laptop truly stand out is its battery life. With the nine-cell battery, it can last up to 22 hours of usage when unplugged. With a six-cell battery, it can last for six hours.
CONS
The Lenovo ThinkPad T410s doesn’t have enough VRAM to run the heaviest games. But then, we can’t really fault it that much since it isn’t being promoted as a gaming laptop.
CONCLUSION
The Lenovo ThinkPad T410s’ performance and portability are good enough reasons to purchase this laptop. It may be a bit pricier but its usefulness and practicality offsets it.
